CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Caring for your Silk

Silk is elegant, versatile and washable. Care must be taken when washing silk products.

Clean with warm soapy water and a very gentle/delicate washing agent. (dish or hand soap is mild and recommended)

Never use bleach or strong detergents, as this can melt silk

Rinse thoroughly and squeeze excess water by pressing the two sides together.

Do not wring

Dry flat

No need to Dry clean -as dry cleaning can cause some resisted dye to become sticky and stiff

Do not tumble dry

Mist with water and press back to shape with a cool iron

-note- The dyes have been steam set and pre-washed, although much excess color remains in the natural fibers for several washings. Wash only if needed. It is important that the silk is constantly moving in the water. Do not allow it to soak, because colors may run together. Only keep it in the water for less than 30 seconds.

For silkier results after washing:

Place the washed silk directly in to a tub of cool water to rinse. For a silkier feel, add A DROP of Downy fabric softener. To much softener will make some silk weaves, such as Chiffon, feel rubbery when it is dried. Re-rinsing can eliminate this texture. Also, be careful not to overstretch Chiffon while ironing.

All Items are Hand Painted

Silks are hand painted with brushes using fiber active dyes and the certificate. The colors are steam set, and do not need to be dry cleaned. All are hand washable. Each piece is painted individually. As some may be similar, no two are exactly alike there are no machines involved in this process. All colors are hand mixed. The fabric is steam set in a home-made steamer, hand washed, hung dry and hand pressed.
